Masking Tape
Visually, masking tape can be categorized into two types: crepe paper masking tape and Washi paper tape. Functionally, the main categories include standard masking tape, heat-resistant masking tape, UV-resistant masking tape, and low-tack printing masking tape. Its fundamental purpose is to provide masking, secure positioning, and residue-free removal.
Key application scenarios include:
1. Renovation / Painting: Essential for painters. Used for creating clean color breaks on walls, masking edges to prevent paint bleed, protecting doors, windows, baseboards, and switch plates during painting, and masking tile edges during grouting to ensure clean, straight lines.
2. Crafts / Art / Students: Used for securing paper during drawing or creating school projects without tearing the paper; masking areas for highlights or color separation in hand-drawn art, gouache, or acrylic painting; and providing temporary fixation for DIY crafts without damaging the surface upon removal.
3. Daily Home Use: Mounting posters, photos, or hooks without damaging walls; temporarily organizing and securing electrical cords and data cables; invisible adornments, balloons and streamers for the holidays.
4. Other Scenarios: Masking for automotive painting (requiring medium-temperature-resistant masking tape, approx. 100°C); industrial baking finishes (requiring high-temperature-resistant masking tape, ≥180°C); general spray-painting protection; and securing notebooks to prevent sliding while writing.
Masking tape features a rubber-based adhesive that provides firm adhesion, a soft texture, and good surface conformity. The tape removes cleanly without adhesive residue and can be easily torn by hand. Its surface is writable. Widely used in indoor and outdoor painting and masking, automotive spray-painting, and furniture protection, the tape also offers heat-resistant properties.
