Duct Tape
Cloth tape (also known as fabric-backed or carpet tape) is a heavy-duty adhesive tape featuring a substrate of polyethylene-laminated cloth fibers, coated with a high-tack pressure-sensitive adhesive (rubber, hot-melt, or acrylic-based). It is characterized by its high tensile strength, tearability by hand, and resistance to water and weathering.
Classification and Specifications
By Adhesive Type: Rubber-based (quick initial tack), Hot-melt (long-lasting bond), Acrylic-based (temperature-resistant). Available in single-sided and double-sided versions.
By Color: Black, silver-grey, red, yellow, white, etc., facilitating easy identification and differentiation.
Common Widths: 24mm, 48mm, 50mm; lengths typically range from 25m to 50m.
Core Features:
- Hand-tearable with no scissors required.
- Provides firm adhesion to rough or uneven surfaces, along with high tear resistance and tensile strength.
- The PE coating offers water resistance, oil resistance, and aging resistance.
- Suitable for a wide temperature range, the tape withstands outdoor weather conditions. Certain varieties are writable.
- Cloth Tape: Offers firm adhesion and high tensile strength. Commonly used in heavy-duty packaging, carpet splicing, and bookbinding or protection.
Typical Applications
Industrial: Carton sealing, bundling of heavy loads, pipe wrapping, and temporary equipment securing.
Construction/Renovation: Carpet splicing and fixing, formwork reinforcement, and on-site safety marking/warning.
Stage/Exhibitions: Temporary tasks such as cable management, vehicle emergency repairs, outdoor tent reinforcement, etc.
